A New Vision for Europe

All eyes were on Liverpool last week as the UK hosted the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine. With the city welcoming in acts from across Europe, it was a great chance to showcase Britain as a destination for leisure and trade.

It couldn’t have come at a better time, giving the UK a further boost following on from a statement by EU ambassadors on Europe Day (9th May.) That statement acknowledged a “much welcome and necessary regain in trust in EU–UK relations” following the signing of the Windsor Agreement on trade with Northern Ireland. The statement went on to look towards the building of further ties between the EU and the UK, commenting that: “A strong UK and a strong EU are valuable partners.”

Should investors take notice of those intentions and look towards focusing their investments on the UK or Europe?
