The Pensions Dashboard

Pensions Dashboards are designed to enable an individual to see all of their pensions, including their state pension, in one place. The hope is that this single-place overview could help with improved pension planning and awareness.

Pensions Dashboards have been talked about for a number of years but it has taken time for the technology to be put in place for multiple providers to be able to input data into a single viewpoint. A phased implementation sees the first schemes going live on the dashboard by the end of April 2025, but with the final scheme types not due to connect until the end of October 2026, it could be some time before dashboards go live with individuals able to access their data.

In advance of this first tranche of connections The Pensions Regulator has released a series of videos highlighting the impact which dashboards are expected to have on pension planning. These include the worrying statistic that over half of the individuals surveyed had less than 50% confidence in their pension planning.
